Complex & Heavy Rigging
Planned lifting, removal, handling and installation of bridge components, structural steel, precast elements and replacement members — lift plans by our own engineers, cranes coordinated by HSE.
Request a QuoteHeavy Rigging for Bridge, Steel and Precast Components
HSE provides heavy rigging support for bridge components, structural steel members, precast elements, replacement members and other heavy structural components requiring planned lifting, removal, handling or installation. This work may include crane coordination, specialty lift planning, constrained-access work, multi-crane coordination where applicable, and sequencing support for complex or schedule-sensitive field conditions.
- Specialty lift planning by in-house engineers
- Constrained-access and multi-crane picks
- Removal, handling and installation of replacement members
- Crane coordination
Specialty Lift Planning
Every non-routine pick starts with an engineered lift plan: crane selection and position, rigging design, load and radius checks, ground-bearing requirements confirmed with the crane supplier, and the sequence — produced by HSE’s licensed PEs and submitted to the owner or prime before the crane arrives.
- Lift plans and rigging design by licensed PEs
- Crane selection and radius by HSE; ground bearing confirmed with the crane supplier
- Submittals for the owner’s engineer or prime
Constrained-Access & Multi-Crane Picks
Picks over live traffic, rail and water, inside tight urban sites or under overhead lines, where one crane can’t reach: tandem lifts, tailing cranes and staged picks coordinated as one move.
- Tandem and multi-crane lifts
- Picks over live traffic, rail and water
- Constrained urban and overhead-line sites
Replacement Member Removal & Installation
Cutting out a damaged girder, beam or column and setting the replacement is a rigging problem before it is a repair problem. HSE shores, rigs, removes and installs under one contract — on bridges and inside operating buildings.
- Removal, handling and installation of replacement members
- Temporary shoring designed by our own engineers
- Rigging inside and around occupied structures
Crane Coordination & Sequencing
Crane positioning, delivery timing and laydown planned with the prime, precaster or owner so the picks happen in the window — night and weekend closures, energization dates and schedule-sensitive field conditions.
- Crane coordination by HSE
- Delivery timing and laydown planned to the closure calendar
- Sequencing support for schedule-sensitive work
What Comes With the Crew
The engineering and coordination behind every heavy pick, held in house.
Licensed Professional Engineers
Lift plans, rigging design and temporary support engineered in house. PE licensure in ten states.
Crane Coordination
Crane selection, positioning and lift execution coordinated by HSE.
AISC Certified Erector
With Bridge Endorsement — the combination most state DOTs and bridge primes require.
Part of the High Family
Oversize and overweight moves planned with High Transit; replacement steel available inside the High family.
Can We Help?
Have a heavy, constrained or multi-crane pick that needs an engineered lift plan and a crew to execute it?
Send the plans or piece schedule with the let or bid date, location and any staging or MOT constraints — a link to your plan room or ITB works.
