Precast Bridge Erection

HSE provides precast bridge girder erection services for projects requiring experienced field crews, safe erection sequencing, crane coordination and schedule-focused execution. Our crews support the installation of precast bridge girders, accelerated phased precast construction and other precast components requiring careful field planning and coordination with the project team.

Precast Bridge Erection

HSE sets precast and prestressed concrete bridge components for state DOTs, turnpike and bridge authorities, and the primes who build for them. The same crews, superintendents and in-house engineers that erect bridge steel handle the precast, one erection subcontractor for the structure, whether the superstructure is steel, concrete or both.

Prestressed Beams, Box Beams & Bulb Tees

Adjacent and spread box beams, I-beams and bulb tees flown from the trailer to the bearing, pick points and rigging checked against the producer’s drawings, crane position and radius set by our own engineers, and beams braced as they are set rather than after the fact.

  • Adjacent and spread box beams, I-beams and bulb tees
  • Lift plans and bracing designed by licensed PEs
  • Delivery sequencing coordinated with the producer

Deck Panels, Barriers & Approach Slabs

Full-depth and partial-depth deck panels, parapet and barrier units, approach slabs and wingwall panels, the components accelerated bridge construction depends on, set to the tolerances the deck closure pours require.

Staged Erection Under Live Traffic

Most bridge precast is set in a window, a weekend closure, a night detour, a track outage. Crane positions, delivery timing, laydown and the order of the picks are worked out with the prime and the owner before the crew mobilizes, so the beams go in and the road opens on schedule.

  • Night, weekend and staged closure windows
  • MOT-constrained and constrained-access picks
  • Crane coordination and laydown planning by HSE
